Happily Ever After: Honeymoon Intro

I may have finished recapping our wedding, but now I get to recap the honeymoon! We were gone for 6 days at Disney World, and instead of doing day-by-day, I'm going to share some pictures and stories based on each park/theme.

Since I know not everyone is interested, I'll be posting these daily over the next several days, so sorry to keep on clogging up your blogger/RSS/email. I may post twice if I have random real-life updates for you. Once grad school starts I promise I won't be posting as much! :P

If you have read much of my blog, you may know that (1) I have a love for all things Disney. I could seriously talk for hours about Disney-related things, from movies, to music, to park history, etc. Also, (2) Matt & I were lucky enough to go to Walt Disney World for our honeymoon. It was absolutely amazing and I figured I would share some details & highlights with you in case you were considering it for your own honeymoon.

Seriously, Disney World is NOT just for kids/families. Matt & I had tons of fun, were able to have sweet, romantic moments, and did not feel out of place. There were other honeymooners there (as indicated by pins and hats), too, so it was fun to congratulate them.

We stayed at the Boardwalk Villas, one of Disney's many on-property resorts. Staying on property means you get to take advantage of many benefits, such as Extra Magic Hours. Each day a park opens early or stays open late just for resort guests, so it's a great time to see things at each park without as many crowds and when the heat isn't so bad. Plus you get free transportation to and from the parks and your resort.

But enough words, here are the pictures!

Hello Epcot! We could watch the nightly fireworks from our balcony
Our room
It included a little kitchenette that was great for eating breakfast/snacks in our room

Another important aspect of our honeymoon were our hats. We pre-ordered these so we would have them to leave our reception (as you saw in the wedding recaps!) and wouldn't have to find them at the parks. They got us tons of attention, free stuff, and magical moments. Wearing them in the parks was great-- just about every other person you walked by would smile and wish you congratulations!

In front of Tower of Terror, my favorite ride :)

We also got free fastpasses from castmembers and guests alike, not to mention free desserts at our meals! Perhaps my favorite perk from wearing the bride & groom ears, though, was just the magical moments castmembers could make.

One day at Epcot in World Showcase, we were treated to special VIP seating at the American Adventure, among other things, all because the castmember knew we were on our honeymoon!

Up next, I show you our time at Magic Kingdom!
